Nil Living originally took part in the north east regional and then national NMTF Young Trader Market competition and had some experience on street markets. Following on from their success as regional winner in the Young Persons Market, they were encouraged to apply for a permanent unit in the Grainger Market. The application form was viewed favourably due to their enthusiasm and their new business concept. Since their opening, they have been really successful and are expanding their business and moving to larger premises within the market.
Tian started her business under the ‘test the market’ scheme. This enabled her to experiment with her stock and displays without too much financial risk. She has received very positive feedback from customers and has recently won the customer service award in the Grainger Market. The plaque is awarded for the most customer focused trader and is voted on by the public.
